A note from Annie Bethancourt

Hey hey hey! Well, Christmas has come and gone, 2003 is almost out the door (countdown T minus 10 hours, to be exact), and I'm left with some awesome music memories and a pure feeling of stoke for all that the new year will bring. I can't believe that just a year ago I thought in my head "Maybe I can do this music thing for REAL." Since then I've been to Europe and back, sold some CDs, played a bunch of fun shows to great crowds, and, oh yeah--FINALLY figured out how cell phones work. Crazy technology.

Most recently my friend Ami and I planned a benefit for victims of the San Diego wildfires and raised over $800 for the cause. I also got the opportunity to play at another benefit for the Visalia Rescue Mission (organized by studly rockers: The Red West) and it was AMAZING. Not only did the concert raise over $5,000 for the Mission, but I was blessed with the pure pure joy of playing for hundreds of eager, enthusiastic listeners. And you know what it made me think? "Maybe I can do this music thing for REAL!"

2004 is looking fine, and I'm so happy to be making music for a new year. I've written a bunch of stuff and hope to do a second CD by the end of the summer! So keep your eyes peeled for new tunes, and possibly a tour to the East Coast in March or April (p.s.: Any East Coasters with ideas or artists I should try and play with, send 'em my way! )

Thank you thank you thank you to everyone who supports independent music. You are all are the reason I am able to follow my heart's dream.

Peace and love for the next 12 months!

Annie B.
