September
1, 2003 — Discovering Artists has teamed up
with Decent Xposure (www.DecentXposure.com)
to bring you an in-depth look at the new Decent Xposure
Compilation CD, which features 12 unsigned artists including
Ari Hest and Pete Schmidt Band.
For the next six weeks, we will be talking to the artists
on the album, giving you the inside track on them, and
giving away FREE CDs in a series of contests.
In exchange for promoting the CD, our site logo has
been printed on 15,000 copies of the album. Yes, we're
just a tad excited about it!
More than this...we believe in the partnership, and
in the album. We're eager to spread the word about the
artists you love, and give you the chance to hear more
singers that are worthy of your time.
When two young and hungry record executives get together
to brainstorm about their respective side projects,
the idea for a new venture is bound to result. Such
is the case with Decent Xposure, which was just released
by Cari Gelber and Ben Hordell of Everfine Records,
the label that launched the very successful college-touring
band O.A.R. Cari also manages Oval Opus and Ben is a
consultant for the Low Life.
The idea behind Decent Xposure is to cross-promote
its artists in each home market represented. Armed with
a retail and street team distribution plan, Decent Xposure
has carefully selected bands that are touring regionally
and gaining new fans every day, with hopes that the
individual fan base of each will grow and compound rapidly.
The initial pressing of 15,000 CDs will be divided among
the artists and used as promotional tools at college
campuses, concert venues and retail outlets. But you
don't have to go to a concert to get the CDs because
we've got a few copies of the album and we'd like you
to have one!
So now that you understand all the technical stuff,
here are the 12 artists that make this CD worth a listen.

this opportunity!
In Tune,
Dan and Kristen
