Decent Xposure Compilation:
Week Four — The Low Life, Brendan Breen, Ordinary Peoples

September 22, 2003 — Can you believe it's already Week 4 of our Decent Xposure compilation CD promotion program? The contest entries keep coming in and we've selected Kyle Rose from Portage, MI to win a FREE copy of the album. This week, read on to hear about three of the artists on the CD, and find out how you could have your name up here next Monday!

The Low Life
In My Bed

A groovin' mix of keyboard, drums and guitars give "In My Bed " its unique sound. It 's reggae with alternative rock rapping lyrics...also known as the genre of music created by Maroon 5. A genre I 've wanted to hear more of...and am thankful this band was included on the CD because now I can. The song is whimsical and focuses on the topic of having fun. The end of the song blasts us into harder rock electric guitar riffs, and does so with a funky transition, thus keeping the compilation diverse indeed. A great jam, this song definitely adds flavor to the compilation album, and buying the CD after hearing it wouldn't be unheard of.

Brendan Breen
More Than Ever
With a deep, quintessential alternative rock voice and a myriad of layered guitars supporting him, Brendan Breen's solo album title song, "More Than Ever " is a radio-bound hard rock tune with sensitive lyrics. The words are something of an emotional acoustic songwriter ' s dimension, but the thrashing guitars give Breen the advantage when it comes to setting himself apart from the rest. In the song, he expressively wails, "To feel your lips tonight/Love oh won't you bury me/With your sweet touch. " Using a few big name producers and mixers was to Breen's advantage, as it helped him gain a professional sound. This harder rock song is definitely worthy of a trip to the CD store to pick up a copy.

*******

Brendan has agreed to give away five copies of his full-length album, More Than Ever, which will be released September 23rd. To find out how to get your copy, check out www.brendanbreen.com. Ordinary Peoples
World Without Money
This song doesn't at all fit the diverse genre of the compilation, but I guess you could say it adds to the diversity! I suppose for those who like hip hop, this is a great song, but it surely stuck out to me on the album. Honestly, I had to advance to the next track. The horn interlude does give it a jazz edge, which is cool. But really, it's just bona fide rap, and personally I don't care for rap. Not bad, though, because I like every other track on the disc.
